“President Biden has helped steer us through the COVID pandemic to where we are now, and tonight, as our country stands united with Ukraine and world partners in defiance of Russian tyranny and aggression, he continued to chart our path forward through the challenges that still lie ahead for our country. I support his vision to do that through supporting American businesses and lowering costs, including through investing in semiconductor manufacturing, providing energy tax credits and further investing in renewable energy. We will move forward by not only cutting prescription costs and capping prices on medications like insulin, but also reducing expenses for healthcare and childcare. We can do that by investing in addiction treatment, recovery and harm reduction services and fighting the opioid addiction. And we must never forget the sacrifices of our military personnel serving overseas, and I couldn’t be happier to hear the President’s proposal to expand healthcare eligibility for devastating health conditions that are likely linked to toxic burn pits. But above all else, we will move forward through these unprecedented times and the lingering impacts of COVID-19 if we can do so unified, not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans.”
