County Executive McCoy Announces New Appointments to County Department of Human Resources, Recreation and Management & Budget

Post Date:03/31/2022 4:12 pm

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy announced that he has made three major appointments to the individual County Departments of Human Resources, Recreation, and Management & Budget. Each individual has demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in public service and his or her own respective fields of expertise.

Tyrell Gladden, who previously served as the County Director of Affirmative Action since 2017, has been promoted to serve as the Deputy Commissioner of the Human Resources Department. Justin Atlas, who has been the City of Albany’s Deputy Commissioner of Recreation since 2018, has been appointed as the Albany County Recreation Department Commissioner. Finally, Patrick Alderson, who was a Senior Policy Analyst in the County Executive’s Office and served at the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services prior to that, has been appointed as the County Department of Management & Budget Deputy Commissioner.

“We are at a pivotal moment in Albany County as we continue our recovery from the pandemic and the economic fallout, and look for new and improved ways to provide quality programs and services. These efforts require that we have a top notch team, and these individuals I’ve appointed are proven leaders that our residents deserve,” said County Executive McCoy.

“During my State of the County Address, I announced major proposals in terms of workforce development and attracting talented individuals to county service, as well as expanding our recreation offerings, and continuing a track record of fiscal responsibility. I’m confident that Tyrell, Justin and Patrick will help us accomplish all of those things quickly and effectively,” he continued.
