Albany County and MVP Health Care are giving youth student basketball players an opportunity to win tickets to games in the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament at the MVP Arena. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Siena College are hosting the NCAA First and Second Rounds of the Men’s Basketball Tournament scheduled for March 17 and 19. 

This collaboration supports physical activity, promotes sports participation and teamwork and encourages interest in attending a sporting event of this caliber at MVP Arena. 

“This is a great chance for our kids to get creative, let us know what they love about basketball and to get an opportunity to watch the game in-person at MVP Arena,” said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. “You never know, we might have a star in the making going to their first game.”

“Creating opportunities for kids to experience something special, like the NCAA tournament, adds to the strength and vitality of our region,” said MVP Health Care’s President and CEO, Chris Del Vecchio. “Offering this contest to students in Albany County is a great way to support their interest in basketball while showing them where their talents could lead them in the future. We are proud to partner with Albany County on this contest and look forward to seeing the submissions.”

In order to win tickets, students from grades 3 – 8 who attend a school in Albany County, participate on a basketball team, church team, community team or basketball clinic will be given a chance to submit a creative one minute video answering any of the four questions listed on the entry form. Parents or legal guardians will officially enter the video on the behalf of the child. The parent or legal guardians of the winners will receive the prize on their behalf. All entry forms and videos are due by Tuesday, January 31. Winners will be notified by Wednesday, March 1.
