County Executive McCoy Declares State of Emergency
County Office Buildings Closed March 14; Urges People Stay off the Roads
Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy announced that after declaring a State of Emergency in Albany County, which went into effect at 8pm, he has closed Albany County Offices effective at 12am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, as severe weather conditions are forecast. County Offices will re-open Wednesday, March 15, 2023, for standard business hours. This notice does not apply to the Albany County Nursing Home, Department of Public Works, Department of General Services, Water Purification District or Sheriff’s Office.
"Our DPW crews will be working tonight and throughout tomorrow when the snow is expected to come down rapidly," said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. "I recommend everyone stay off the roads to let emergency services and plows do their jobs to keep everyone safe."
County employees who are able to work remotely will do so on Tuesday.
