The Albany County Department of Public Works today issued a travel advisory for the reconstruction of railroad grade crossings and the installation of new tracks being carried out by Norfolk Southern Railroad between the Village of Voorheesville and the Village of Delanson in Schenectady County. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 24, and is scheduled to be completed by Friday, May 19. Road closures at railroad intersections will be staggered, with some overlaps and should be expected in the Towns of New Scotland, Guilderland and Knox.  The most recent schedule of road closures is shown in the table below, but it may be subject to change:

The railroad crossings will be closed starting at 6am on the first day of each scheduled section closure, and will remain closed for the duration of the dates provided. Closures are expected to take an estimated three days at most of these sites. Through traffic will not be permitted, but the roads will be open up to the constructions sites. Signed detours will be in place ahead of and during the closures.
