The Albany County Legislature appointed Ellen Rosano to fill the seat left empty after Nathan Bruschi’s resignation in May.
Surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren, Rosano was sworn in during Monday’s Legislative Meeting by the Clerk of the Legislature before being escorted to her seat by Chairman Joyce. Rosano will serve out the remainder of the term which is set to expire at the end of this year.
“I am excited to welcome Ellen Rosano to the Albany County Legislature and I know that she will put her wealth of knowledge and experience to good use,” said Chairman Andrew Joyce. “It is a privilege to appoint someone to the Legislature with such a long record of public service and dedication to her community, and I look forward to working with her.”
“Having lived in District 24 for 60 years, I am thrilled to be representing my community in the Albany County Legislature and would like my constituents to know that I will always be available for them”, said Legislator Ellen Rosano. “I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and jumping into the important work coming before the Legislature. I aim to have a positive impact not only on the residents in my district but on the whole County as well.”
“I am so happy to welcome Ellen Rosano to the Albany County Legislature to serve the 24th District. Ellen has lived in that Colonie district for the last 60 years, during which time she has proven her devotion to the community and conservation efforts repeatedly”, said Majority Leader Dennis Feeney. “Ellen is a life-long public servant. A former children’s social worker for Albany County, Ellen has also always volunteered extensively in the community – including coordinating teams for little leagues, making meals for local shelters, and chairing the Conservation Committee for the Town of Colonie. I look forward to working with Ellen in this new capacity and watching her flourish as a Legislator.”
