Each one of these grant awardees is doing difficult work often far from the spotlight. While we will continue to work with our colleagues in government, it is important to reach out into the community and support those who are supporting others.”
Albany County Legislature Deputy Chairwoman Wanda Willingham said: “Many of the organizations and schools that we are supporting with these grants provide services and enrichment to marginalized and historically underserved communities. I am proud that our legislature has the perspective to help lift up the people who are actively working in the community to make Albany County a better place.”
