Albany Pair Arraigned on Attempted Murder and Gun Charges

Post Date:04/03/2025 2:10 pm

Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 34-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman have been arraigned in Albany County Court for a drive-by shooting.

Dayshon Miller and Nashala Turner, both of Albany, were arraigned in front of the Honorable William Little on an indictment that charges them each with one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

The indictment also charges Miller with an additional count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and Turner with one count of Hindering Prosecution in the Second Degree.

Albany Police allege that on the night of Sept. 5, 2024, Turner and Miller were driving in the area of First Street and Lexington Avenue when Miller allegedly fired at a male individual on the street. The male fired back and a female bystander was struck in the crossfire, but survived. Police later executed a search warrant at the pair’s Washington Avenue apartment on Oct. 30, 2024, and recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun.

If convicted, they could face up to 25 years to life in state prison.

Turner was released after posting $40,000 bond while Miller was returned to the Albany County Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $150,000, $250,000 bond and $350,000 partially secured bond.

The case is being prosecuted by the Major Crimes Unit.

ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE.
