Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that an Albany man has admitted his guilt in a razor attack.
Olonjadae Rouse, 31, pled guilty to Assault in the First Degree, a Class B felony, in exchange for a sentence of 18 years determinate in state prison followed by five years post-release supervision in front of the Honorable Roger McDonough in Albany Supreme Court on Monday.
On the morning of March 4, 2025, Rouse and the victim got into a verbal dispute that turned violent when the defendant pulled out a razor blade and sliced the victim in the head, face, and neck area, requiring immediate medical attention and a lengthy hospital stay.
Rouse fled the scene but was later apprehended by members of the Albany Police Department. Rouse's sentencing is set for May 30.
Assistant District Attorney Beven Nedumthakady of the Major Crimes Bureau prosecuted the case.
