Two Albany Youths Arraigned in Homicide Case

Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that two 15-year-olds connected to a Feb. 10 homicide on Yates Street have been arraigned in Albany County Family Court.

The Honorable Amy Joyce arraigned the two youths Monday on an indictment that charges one youth with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Attempted Robbery in the First Degree, and Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree.

The second youth was arraigned on an indictment that charges him with Murder in the Second Degree and Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree.

The individuals cannot be named due to their age.

On Feb. 10 at around 1:40 a.m., Albany Police responded to the 200 block of Yates Street near South Lake Avenue for reports of an individual unresponsive inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Quadair Hoffler, of Rensselaer, with a gunshot wound to his head.

The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Assistant District Attorney Collin D’Arcy is prosecuting the case.
