Albany County Legislature Chairwoman Joanne Cunningham said: “At the heart of everything today is people and organizations looking beyond themselves and committing to making Albany County's homes, neighborhoods, and cities more welcoming, accommodating, equitable, and inclusive. We hope that today’s grants will help, at least a little bit, their continued efforts toward making Albany County better and provide a little bit of certainty in times that feel very uncertain.”
Albany County Legislature Deputy Chairwoman Wanda Willingham said: “Ceremonies like this one remind me that when you combine a depth of passion with a breadth of opportunities, that is when you create an environment of support that lifts everyone. The organizations the Legislature supported today reflect the idea that it really is ALL-bany and not SOME-bany County.”
Albany County Legislature Democratic Majority Leader Dennis Feeney said: “Across Albany County, small organizations are doing big work—coaching kids, preserving our history, protecting the environment, and creating spaces where people feel supported. These grants are a concrete investment in the people who make our community stronger every day. This is what government should do—invest directly in the people building a better Albany County.”
