Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that two men are heading to prison for firearms charges.
The Honorable William Little sentenced Shamar Robinson, 32, of Albany, Thursday to a 14-year determinate sentence for being found guilty of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree following a trial in late January. He will also face five years of post-release supervision.
Robinson was arrested by Albany Police on March 6, 2024, after a search warrant was executed at an apartment serving as an illegal marijuana shop as a part of a violent crimes investigation.
The case was handled by Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Jektyan.
Justin Dugger, 26, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty to a 10-count indictment in Albany County Court Thursday and was sentenced by the Honorable Andra Ackerman to serve a seven-year determinate state prison sentence followed by three years of post-release supervision.
The indictment charged Dugger with six counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, two counts of Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the Third Degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
On March 19, 2024, members of the New York State Police launched an investigation into Dugger after receiving a tip. Over the next several months, Dugger sold police large quantities of crack-cocaine and three firearms, including a .380 semi-automatic, a .32 revolver, and a .22 semi-automatic. On May 22, 2024, NYSP arrested Dugger in a Cohoes parking lot when he was found to be in possession of approximately 26 grams of cocaine.
Assistant District Attorney Marissa Olsen of the Street Crimes Bureau prosecuted the case.
