Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that an Albany man wanted in connection with a 2024 shooting that left a man paralyzed has been indicted.
Juhmir Arrington, 30, was arraigned Friday in front of the Honorable Thomas Marcelle on a sealed indictment that charges him with one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
The indictment alleges that on June 1, 2024, Arrington was involved in a verbal argument that turned violent outside the CVS at 16 New Scotland Ave. at around 6:30 p.m., when he shot a man in the chest.
Arrington pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the custody of the Albany County Correctional Facility. If found guilty, he faces up to 25 years in state prison.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney and Major Crimes Bureau Chief Joseph Brucato.
