Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 25-year-old Clarksville man has been formally charged in connection with a glass-smashing incident at a popular pub last year.
John Jeffers was arraigned in front of the Honorable Roger McDonough Thursday on the indictment that charges him with one count of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D felony.
On Dec. 1, 2024, Albany Police responded to McGeary’s Pub at 4 Clinton Square for reports of an unruly patron. Police discovered that Jeffers allegedly smashed the pub’s front window with a table and then threw a chair through the front door, causing $10,000 worth of damage.
Jeffers pleaded not guilty on Thursday and was released on his own recognizance.
Assistant District Attorney and Bureau Chief of the Major Crimes Unit Jospeh Brucato is prosecuting the case.
