Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 32-year-old man who was arrested twice in one day has been arraigned on robbery and gun charges.
Brian Briggs was arraigned in front of the Honorable Thomas Marcelle on the indictment that charges him with one count of Robbery in the First Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
On May 12, Albany Police responded to Townsend Park Apartments at 45 Central Ave. just after 2 p.m. for reports of a man with a weapon. Officers learned that a male suspect had allegedly threatened another male with a handgun and stole property before fleeing on foot.
The suspect was spotted nearby and, after a brief pursuit, was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and the stolen property.
Just 12 hours earlier, Briggs had been arrested at the same location for trespassing and fighting with Albany Police.
