Albany County Legislators toured the former College of Saint Rose campus yesterday as revitalization plans continue to unfold.

With future uses yet to be discussed, lawmakers wanted to ensure they are well informed about the campus’ details. Legislators also checked in with County Departments that are already utilizing the newly acquired space.

Albany County Legislature Chairwoman Joanne Cunningham said: “This campus has incredible potential. Along with the $400 million commitment the state has made to its capital city, we are on the brink of a great transition for Albany.”

Albany County Legislature Deputy Chairwoman Wanda Willingham said: “Every step of redevelopment of this campus sends out economic ripples that lift up all of Albany County. We need to be informed and educated about all of the details a to ensure that we are serving all of Albany County. We are doing our homework on what this former college campus can become.”

Albany County Legislature Democratic Majority Leader Dennis Feeney said: “Today’s tour was an exciting opportunity for us to better understand the scope and promise of the Saint Rose campus. With collaboration between the Legislature, County Executive, and Pine Hills Land Authority, we have a real chance to reimagine this space in a way that serves residents and invests in Albany County’s future.”
