Albany Man Indicted for Cafe Hollywood Shooting
Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that the 20-year-old Albany man who shot a man inside Café Hollywood in November 2024 has been formally charged.
Malachi Davis was arraigned on an indictment Monday in front of the Honorable William Little that charges him with one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Assault in the First Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
On Nov. 24, 2024, Albany Police responded to Café Hollywood at 275 Lark St. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered that a man had been shot in the abdomen and drove himself to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
After several months of investigating the incident, Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Davis.
Assistant District Attorney Stephen Lydon of the Major Crimes Bureau is prosecuting the case.
ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE.
