Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 29-year-old Albany man who broke into an apartment and forced a woman to perform oral sex on him has admitted his guilt.
Lamont Evans pleaded guilty Thursday in front of the Honorable Andra Ackerman to Rape in the First Degree.
On June 15 just after 8:30 p.m., Evans broke into a Lancaster Street apartment by entering a first-floor window and walked into a bedroom where he confronted a sleeping female, who was a stranger to him, and demanded she perform oral sex. Evans exited the apartment and was arrested by Albany Police a short time after.
Evans will be sentenced to 15 years in state prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision and will be required to register with the NYS Sex Offender Registry. He also faces a consecutive sentence of one and a third to four years for a probation violation.
Evans was remanded to the custody of the Albany County Correctional Facility until his sentencing date on Dec. 18.
Assistant District Attorney Ariel Fallon, Bureau Chief of the Special Victims Unit, is prosecuting the case.
