Albany Man Pleads Guilty In Connection to Barbershop Murder

Post Date:11/24/2025 4:00 pm

Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that an 18-year-old Albany man has admitted his role in connection to a May 2023 shooting that killed a man and injured two others at a popular Albany barbershop.

The man, who was 15 at the time and cannot be named because of his status as a juvenile offender, pleaded guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree Monday in front of the Honorable William Little. He will receive a three and a third to 10-year sentence in state prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 22.

Albany Police allege that four males who are members of an uptown gang drove to Village Barber and Beauty on Second Avenue on May 13, 2023 and opened fire with multiple handguns, killing barber Tyrone Staley, 47, and wounding a 19-year-old man and a 9-year-old boy. Police believe the 19-year-old was the intended target.

Timmoure Miller, another co-defendant in the shooting case, was sentenced in November to serve 25 years in state prison after pleading guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree.

Assistant District Attorney and Major Crimes Bureau Chief Joseph Brucato is prosecuting the case.
