Man Pleads Guilty to Attacking Wife
Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 35-year-old Albany man who stabbed his wife during an argument has admitted his guilt.
Elijah Thomas pleaded guilty to Attempted Assault in the First Degree Thursday in front of the Honorable Andra Ackerman for an incident that happened on Feb. 2.
Albany Police officers responded to a home on Sherman Street near Quail Street at around 9:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing. On scene, they found a 31-year-old female, Thomas’ wife, suffering from stab wounds to her torso, legs and hands.
The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she received treatment for her wounds.
Police determined the victim sustained her injuries during a domestic-related incident inside the home that escalated after a verbal dispute. Additionally, the incident occurred in the presence of the victim’s two young children, both of whom were physically unharmed.
Thomas, who was remanded to the custody of the Albany County Correctional Facility, will be sentenced on Feb. 3, 2026, and receive up to 15 years in state prison.
Ariel Fallon, Assistant District Attorney and Bureau Chief of the Special Victims Unit, is prosecuting the case.
