Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 37-year-old man has been formally charged for an October stabbing when he tried to kill two men.
Sean Davidson was arraigned on a four-count indictment in front of the Honorable William Little Tuesday that charges him with Attempted Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, and Aggravated Criminal Contempt.
On Oct. 18, Albany Police were called at 3:44 a.m. to an apartment on Green Street for reports of a stabbing. Albany Police allege that Davidson targeted an acquaintance, with whom he had a stay-away order of protection issued against, and beat the man with a hammer and then stabbed him in the lower back.
The man was rushed to Albany Medical Center Hospital, intubated and underwent surgery to save his life. When the man’s friend tried to intervene, Albany Police allege that Davidson also struck him with a hammer and stabbed him in the armpit area.
Davidson pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was remanded to the custody of the Albany County Correctional Facility.
Assistant District Attorney Ariel Fallon, Bureau Chief of the Special Victims Unit, is prosecuting the case.
