Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that two individuals connected to an assault and robbery that led Albany Police to two illegal handguns have been sentenced to state prison.

The Honorable William Little sentenced Nahshon Joseph, 32, Tuesday to serve 10 years in state prison followed by five years of post-release supervision after he pleaded guilty to two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

Judge Little sentenced his codefendant, Amazjee Glass, 20, to serve five years in state prison followed by five years of post-release supervision for pleading guilty to Robbery in the Second Degree.

On Aug. 12, 2025, Albany Police responded to Clinton Avenue just after 1:45 p.m. and found a 68-year-old man who said he had just been robbed and beaten.

Detectives determined that Joseph and Glass had approached him on the street when Joseph unexpectedly threw the victim to the ground and punched him. The two men ripped gold jewelry off the man and took off running. Police later obtained video of the two selling the items at a Crossgates Mall jewelry store that day.

The victim suffered injuries to his hand, head and neck and was taken to Albany Memorial Hospital for treatment. On Aug. 13, Albany Police pulled over a vehicle occupied with Glass, who was a suspect in the robbery, and arrested him. A search warrant executed later that day at his residence on Third Street turned up a large ammunition feeding device capable of holding 50 rounds.

Albany Police executed another search warrant at a residence on Sheridan Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 and found Joseph at the home with two loaded 9mm handguns, one of which had the serial number defaced.

Assistant District Attorney and Major Crimes Bureau Chief Joseph Brucato prosecuted the case.
