Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 73-year-old Chittenango man has been charged for sexually abusing two minors over a period of several years.
David Griffith was arraigned on a sealed indictment Wednesday in front of the Honorable Roger McDonough that charges him with Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, two counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
The indictment alleges that Griffith engaged in sexual acts with a victim less than 13 years old over a period of time from 2016 to 2022. The indictment also alleges that Griffith engaged in sexual conduct with a victim less than 11 years old over a period of time between 2018 and 2021. The crimes occurred at both Griffith’s home in Chittenango and an Albany County residence.
Both victims were known to Griffith, who pleaded not guilty and was remanded without bail to the custody of the Albany County Correctional Facility. New York State Police arrested Griffith on Wednesday morning and are continuing the investigation.
Assistant District Attorney Stacy Mix of the Special Victims Unit is prosecuting the case.
