Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 45-year-old Albany woman has been indicted for an attack on a man.

Ronita Roberts was arraigned in front of the Honorable Roger McDonough Friday afternoon and charged with Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree.

On June 2 around 1:25 p.m., Albany Police responded to 400 Central Ave. for reports of an individual who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers located a 67-year-old male with a stab wound to his neck. The victim was treated on scene by the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital.

The indictment alleges that Roberts and the victim were involved in an altercation inside an apartment and Roberts slashed the victim in the neck with a knife.

Roberts pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility after bail was set at $150,000 cash, $300,000 bond and $450,00 partially secured bond.

Assistant District Attorney Ryan Carty, Bureau Chief of Local Courts and Training Unit, is prosecuting the case.
