Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 54-year-old Gloversville man has been sentenced to state prison for attempting to engage in sexual contact with a minor.

The Honorable Roger McDonough sentenced Kristian Walker to serve five years in state prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision after he was found guilty of Attempted Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree following a two-day trial in May in Albany County Court.

Walker responded to a posting on a social media website in August 2023 that described a woman who was interested in a discreet meetup in Colonie. Walker continued to have a series of email exchanges with a New York State Police investigator over several weeks who was posing as a woman looking for someone to sexually train and groom her 12-year-old daughter.

On Aug. 31, 2023, Walker made an agreement to meet up with the woman at a Dunkin Donuts in Colonie. Once there, he met with the woman and agreed to go to her home to perform sexual acts with the young girl. He was arrested a short time later.

During the trial, Assistant District Attorney Alizabeth Volkman called on three New York State Police investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force who led the undercover chat investigation.

"ADA Volkman took a dangerous man off the streets today,” DA Kindlon said. “Thanks to her work and the efforts of the ICAC Task Force, we continue to make Albany County safe from child predators."

Walker will also be required to register with the NYS Sex Offender Registry upon his release from prison.
