Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy and Albany County Department for Aging Commissioner Deb Riitano will launch the “Shoo the Flu” campaign on Wednesday, September 2 @ 10:30am at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road, Albany. They will be handing out “flu prevention bags” to seniors who pick them up at a drive-thru event in the parking lot. The bags contain a thermometer, hand sanitizer, washable face mask, pill case, bottle of water and a can of chicken soup just in case you do get sick.

“COVID-19 has proven to be deadly for those who are most vulnerable and have medical conditions as many members of our senior community do,” said County Executive McCoy. “With the start of the flu season, we are encouraging everyone to get a flu shot and are providing our seniors with some of the supplies they need to say healthy and be able to protect themselves.”

Each bag also includes the CDC guidelines for stopping the spread of COVID-19 along with a list of locations that administer flu shots.
