Albany County Legislature passes bipartisan bill designed to clarify time and attendance policies for employees
ALBANY, NY – The Albany County Legislature is looking into modifications to the Rules and Regulations regarding time and attendance for County employees in response to concerns raised in an audit that was released earlier this year.
Legislators unanimously approved a bipartisan resolution on Monday requesting both the Albany County Comptroller and the Commissioner of Human Resources to conduct a review of the issues presented in the Comptroller’s Report and to report back to the Legislature on potential modifications to the Rules and Regulations for County employees regarding the current timekeeping process within 45 days.
“We want to hear from our resident experts - the Comptroller and the Commissioner of Human Resources,” Chairman Andrew Joyce, who sponsored the resolution, said. “Rather than drafting policy that could potentially lead to unexpected consequences, we are taking the critical step of gathering input from the officials that will ultimately be in charge of enforcing these changes.”
“I look forward to the Commissioner of Human Resources and Comptroller giving us guidance on how to better implement our employee time and attendance procedures,” Majority Leader Dennis Feeney, a co-sponsor of the resolution, said.
