The core of Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center’s prevention work is through community education and empowerment. Our free prevention programs and trainings are tailored to individual interests, needs and ages in order to best give individuals, organizations and social groups the tools they need to prevent violence in their communities.

We offer a variety of free sexual assault and violence prevention programs to community members, professionals, businesses, schools, colleges, athletic clubs and gyms, religious groups, parents, social groups and youth. These programs are designed specifically for the unique needs of the audience. Trainings can be presented virtually or in person.

Our agency can help public schools fulfill Erin's Law requirements. Erin's Law requires public schools to educate K-8 students about child sexual abuse and exploitation prevention. We use evidence-based curriculums to ensure we properly satisfy the requirement.

If you would like more information or are interested in scheduling a training, contact our Coordinator of Community Education at (518) 447-7100. Please call in advance to allow time for our Prevention Educators to design a presentation appropriate for your audience.

If your training need is not listed, please contact our Coordinator of Community Education and we would be happy to discuss additional training options.
