We provide assessments, recommendations, and technical assistance for sustainability and natural resource planning, including, but not limited to:

• Environmental regulatory compliance,
• Agricultural Districts, and
• open space conservation.

We specialize in research and studies regarding the planning, management, and conservation of the County's natural resources.

We coordinate and administer environmental regulatory compliance on behalf of the County Legislature and other County agencies.

We make recommendations on studies and projects regarding environmental impact assessment.

We advise the Commissioner of Public Works on management and maintenance needs of the County Nature and Historic Preserve.

We fulfill the County's mandate under the Agricultural Protection Act.

We coordinate local government assistance on matters involving environmental regulatory compliance, natural resources inventory data, and land use and natural resource planning.
