Open year round to the public for bird watching, cross country skiing, fishing, hiking, ice fishing, nature study, picnicking, snowshoeing and the use of canoes and portable cartop watercraft.

Use of the buildings is by special permit only, and can be applied for at the Lawson Lake Information Center, 293 Lawson Lake Road, Feura Bush, NY 12067, or by calling (518) 768-2560.

Park roads are seasonal limited use roads with no maintenance from November 15 through April 15.

The following uses and activities are prohibited: consumption of alcoholic beverages, hunting, trapping, motorized vehicles, motorized boats and large watercraft requiring trailers, open fires, overnight camping, and swimming.

A variety of fish make their home in the lake, including black crappie, large mouth bass, pickerel, and various sunfish. Many species of birds live in the park, and there are excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, including several species of protected fauna.

There are two points of access for boating (with car top vessels only) and fishing.

The park has two marked trails. The two trails are located on the lower half of the park and offer access for hiking and snowshoeing.  Hiking Trails & Map
