Thomas Clingan

Tom served the people of Albany County in various capacities for 38 years, retiring in 2013. During his 25 years as County Clerk, he was responsible not only for the land and court records of the County but also for the expansion of the County Hall of Records and annual revenues exceeding $33 million per year.
Both his BA and his Master’s degree in Public Administration were earned at UAlbany, and he was twice recognized for Excellence in Advocacy by the State Board of Regents.
Tom has also been an active volunteer in the community, including nearly 20 years’ service on the Cohoes Planning Commission and with planning bodies in the greater Capital Region concerned with health facilities and nonprofit capacity-building.
Tom and his wife Carol have lived in Cohoes for 47 years.
