The Civil Unit is composed of both sworn and civilian members who are responsible for processing and enforcing court orders in civil actions, including:

Service of summons and complaints,
Execution of civil warrants,
Serving subpoenas,
Executing orders of seizures,
Property executions,
Income executions, and
Evictions.

Albany County now accepts credit and debit card payments through GovPayNet. Payments can be made with a major credit, debit or pre-paid debit card, including:

MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and debit cards

Payments can be made for civil payments.

Poundage of 5% will be taken from all payments collected under $250,000.
Poundage of 3% will be taken from all payments above $250,000.
