Most Albany County households are eligible for a free or reduced cost residential energy audit, through the Green Jobs Green New York program.

The GJGNY program is administered by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority).

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR

The HPwES program offers free or reduced cost home energy assessment conducted by a accredited Home Performance Contractor. The contractor works with the homeowner to select energy projects to improve the home. HPwES also offers financing options to pay for the projects.

Residential Energy Assessment

The assessment, also referred to as an energy audit, provides you with a top-to-bottom look at where your home is wasting energy and flags any potential health or safety issues.

Financing Energy Improvements

NYSERDA offers a suite of loans under the Green Jobs-Green New York (GJGNY) Program to help New York State residents finance energy efficiency improvements, and renewable energy systems.

Prior to accessing a NYSERDA loan, homeowners must have an energy assessment or audit that identifies energy services to be undertaken
